Congratulations to Bev Bokovitz ’10 and Sandy Selby ’96 who were given the Women of Achievement Awards at the Women’s Network of Northeast Ohio annual Women of Achievement Awards banquet on June 17. Angelina Milo ’09 was the recipient of the Women’s Network Founder’s Award for Economic Progress of Women.

Cambridge Home Health Care (Nancy Diller-Shively ’97 and Jim Newbrough ’06) has received the 2010 NEO Success Award, presented by Inside Business Magazine.  The award recognizes top-performing companies in Northeast Ohio because their commitment to excellence creates growth and jobs for the area.  This is the ninth consecutive year for Cambridge Home Health Care to receive the award.   The award ceremony was held March 25 at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven.

Congratulations to Karen Doty ’85 and James Payne ’90 for receiving the 2010 Outstanding Alumni Award from the University of Akron School of Law Alumni Association at the annual Alumni Awards dinner on May 14.  The honorees were chosen for their achievements in the legal profession and their communities.

Leaders Serving the Community

Val Hoover ’99 was sworn in as the 19^th President of the Ohio Women’s Bar Association on May 12 in Columbus, OH.

Doreen Kuster ’00, a Kent State University graduate, recently spoke to a group of accounting students there about her career path and how the Institute of Management Accounts helped her get where she is today.  They are in the process of starting up a student chapter and she provided insight what student chapter membership and participation on the Board can do to add to skills sets they might not get in the classroom setting.
