Class 25 member Tia Ramlow was recognized in Crain's Cleveland Business' 40 Under 40. Ramlow is President of GreatWork Employment Services, a 17 employee employment service firm with offices in Akron, Canton, Streetsboro and Wadsworth. The firm provides employee placement in manufacturing, distribution, clerical and technical positions throughout Northeast Ohio.
 

Leadership Akron Debuts insight:AKRON

Responding to the needs of busy new executives coming to Akron, Leadership Akron developed a new program, insight:Akron. insight:Akron is a full day community orientation that includes site visits, presentations and hands-on activities that will expedite the process of networking, learning and getting involved in the Akron Community. Endowment Campaign Launched at Annual Meeting
Leadership Akron announced an endowment campaign to an audience of more than 175 alumni at the Alumni Annual Meeting August 22. The campaign, co-chaired by past trustees Philip Maynard and Roger Read, is slated to raise at least $500,000. With a larger endowment, Leadership Akron will reinforce the quality of its flagship program, and seed the development of 2 to 3 additional programs that reach new audiences. At the Annual Meeting, Maynard announced that the Leadership Akron board of trustees has reached its goal of $150,000. The alumni phase, co-chaired by Bill Lowery '01 and Chris Yuhasz '05, has a "stretch goal" of $170,000 which will leverage $85,000 in additional funds from the GAR Foundation, which just issued a 1-for-2 challenge.
